A Midsummer Night's Dream

Why see A Midsummer Night's Dream?

What Fools These Mortals Be

Don't miss the Bard's wondrous supernatural rom-com as the magic comes to you in this new production from THT Rep, directed by Dr. Kathryn Moncrief,  which moves the action from the court of Athens to a 1980s nightclub!

A delightful and dizzying tale that still enraptures audiences after 400 years, prepare to enter a realm where a quarrel between fairy royalty boils over, with its consequences felt by supernatural folk and mortals alike.

What Is The Story?

A Midsummer Night's Dream focuses on three parallel stories that explore the universal themes of love and its complications. It follows the trials of two couples as they camp in a magical forest, the world of the fairy King and Queen who inhabit said forest, and a group of tradesmen attempting to stage a production of 'Pyramus and Thisby' for the wedding of the Duke of Athens. In true Shakespearean comedy style, these stories don't stay separate for long, and worlds collide in a spectacularly hilarious fashion. Love, action, magic, and comedy mix to create a truly magical spell.
